In a multidisciplinary blend of physical and visual theatre, new magic and live music, the Krumple aims to challenge our perception of the world that surrounds us, and questions humans’ role as the planet’s protagonists to suggest an alternative coexistence.
Just like the signification of the mythical Chimera, which is described as an unrealistic, or unrealizable, wild, foolish or vain dream, the six artists of the Krumple keep trying to hybridise and transform through this performance — be it into stone, tree, bird, earth or cloud — intertwining with various forms of life, in an attempt to rediscover their own. With Chimera they invite us to join them in this hypnotic and playful state, where the boundaries between beings become porous.

Pour cette nouvelle création, le Collectif Krumple a décidé de relever ce défi posé par Gabriel García Márquez. Comment réveiller l'âme des choses ? et si l'on y parvient, qu'advient-il ? Est-il possible que l'âme humaine parvienne à entrer en résonance avec ces autres formes d'âmes, celles de choses réputées inanimées, comme une échelle, une branche d'arbre, un nuage ? Cela aurait-il pour conséquence de changer notre rapport au monde qui nous entoure ?
Pour chercher des réponses, les membres du Krumple ont choisi de partir en voyage sur la scène du théâtre et de raconter leur propre odyssée.

La première de Chimère a eu lieu le 30 mai 2025 au Festival de Théâtre de Stamsund, en Norvège. La première française est prévu le 15 novembre au Théâtre Victor Hugo, Bagneux.
